The 2005 members of the Morgan County West Virginia Volunteer Emergency Association include the Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Company, the Great Cacapon Volunteer Fire Company, the South Morgan County Volunteer Fire Department, the Paw Paw Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company, the Morgan County Rescue Service, Inc., and the Morgan County Office of Emergency Services.
Regular meetings are held quarterly, typically on the third Monday of January, April, June, and October at 7:00 p.m. The meeting sites rotate amongst Berkeley Springs Station 1, Great Cacapon Station 2, South Morgan Station 3, Paw Paw Station 32, and Morgan County Rescue Service Station 7, in that order. All meetings are open to the public. Meeting dates and times are typically announced on the Morgan County fire dispatch paging channel, and published in The Morgan Messenger newspaper.
Please report all outdoor controlled burns to the Morgan County Emergency Communications Center at (304) 258-0305 (non-emergency). Be prepared to give your name, 9-1-1 physical address of the burning location, and a callback telephone number to the dispatcher. West Virginia Spring Fire Season begins March 1st of each year and ends on May 31st. West Virginia Fall Fire Season begins October 1st of each year and ends on December 31st. During fire seasons, controlled burns may occur only after 4:00 pm and must be extinguished before 7:00 am each day. Contact the West Virginia Division of Forestry (304-258-6205) for special burning permits to perform controlled burns between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm during fire seasons.
